We’ve all been there, a series of bad luck or personal tragedies that happen in our lives in a short span of time. It almost seems as if a dark cloud has parked over your head and is following you around. You get to the point where there is nothing left to do but fall on your knees and shake your fists at the heavens. Why oh why is this happening to me!
Maybe it’s karma coming around to even the score. Maybe the cards are just not favourable for you or the planets are not lining up or maybe, and this is my personal favourite folks, shit just happens.
Recently I read a blog that stated that when bad things happen, it is a sign from the universe that change is needed in your life. Now anyone who has read my blog knows that I am a firm believer that the universe is constantly communicating to us in the forms of signs and symbols. Little sign posts that if we only pay attention will help us along our life’s path. But what about when a bad thing happens to someone else but effects you as well?
Is a pets illness a sign for you? Was the financial fallout of your spouse losing his job directed solely for your spiritual enlightenment? Did your parent purposely die to give you a sign from the universe? I don’t think so. It doesn’t matter whether your vibration energy is low or high. Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
Accept It
When you accept this simple fact and allow yourself to simply be in the moment and feel through the emotions the chances of getting past the situation quicker increases.
Some events in life you will never get over, you shouldn’t even try and that is perfectly okay but to be able to move on in life you do need to accept that the loss happened. Trying to make sense of the situation or feeling guilt that you should have some how been able to change the outcome if you had only known, is not accepting. There is no making sense, it is what it is and no amount of analyzing the situation will change the outcome.
Instead accept that: You are hurt, broken hearted, angry, lost, depressed, confused, devastated, altered.
Then accept (and this is the hard part): love and support from friends and family, understanding, sympathy, the kindness of strangers, even financial support if need be.
A burden shared is a burden halved. T.A.Webb
Once you accept the situation for what it is, you can then release the negative emotions that are weighing you down. Yes you will still grieve the loss or you may still need to deal with sudden or even drastic change in your life but it will no longer control you. Accepting and then releasing the emotional hold allows you to take back your power quickly and rise once more.
Bad luck, loss, even devastation can happen to anyone. It does not mean that the universe is sending you a personal message to change or else but rather an opportunity to grow stronger through adversity and it will happen much faster is you simply accept the situation for what it is and release any expectations of making sense out of it.
Friends don’t let friends go through unfortunate events alone. Please share this post and help a friend.
Thanks for your encouragement. Accept, do what needs to be done and move on.
“Sometimes bad things happen to good people.”
It took me a number of years to really understand that phrase. Great post, Diana!
