The 3×3 Project – Week 8

If you are just discovering the 3 x3 Project. Go to the category at the side bar marked 3×3 Project and follow my journey from the beginning.

What is the 3 x 3 Project?

My online friend, Slade Roberson wrote a interesting post on his site, Shift Your Spirits entitled Change Your Life In 3 Months .

The formula is simple:

Perform 3 action each week that move you closer to your goal.

Do it for 3 months.

Set down the framework for each month and then focus on the weekly actions. This is a bite size action plan that can work on any goal you want to achieve. Think big but act small.

This is my experience with the concept.

Making Connections

One of the best results of this experiment is that I have become much more confident to self promote myself.

To anyone who has launched a business that provides a service in which you personally offer, having to blow ones own horn to get the message out into the world, is the hardest part.

Now at this point, I am not really offering much of anything other than my insights, but what this project has given me is the focus to not be afraid to step up to the next level.

I believe in the theory that all things have a season. It is easy to see this in hindsight but can seem frustrating when your progress is blocked somehow, or you don’t understand why something is happening to you.

Last September, I signed up to take a Life Coaching course. This had been a dream of mine for almost a decade but I didn’t have the self belief to move forward with it. Last fall I was so excited that I had finally taken the leap. I felt I had grown to the point where I could confidently make this dream a reality. So I eagerly waited for the November date to make it finally happen.

Except the universe got in the way, and I became sick. At first I thought I could weather through and I actually travelled to the city the course was being held and suffered through the first hour of the class, but I was too sick. So I told the teacher I couldn’t carry on and left.

I have never, in my life been as sick as I was that weekend. As a matter of a fact, other than a mild cold or two, I hadn’t been sick in years. Turns out I had pneumonia and continued to be sick for three more weeks.

Why, of all times, did I have to get sick then, when I wanted that course so very badly?

I believed, even then, that there was a reason but at the time, I just could not see. Until now.

You see, this coming weekend I have another chance to take the Life Coaching course. The teacher was gracious enough to allow me to try again and I know, that because of this 3×3 Project experiment, I am in a much better place to fully utilize the knowledge I will receive.

The last 8 weeks have made me focus, more than ever before in my life, on my tightly held, deep in my heart goals and take steps, some big and some teeny weeny, towards actually making them happen.

What I have learned so far, that is worth more than any victory I’ve gleaned from this project, is that each action has built my resolve and my confidence in myself. Much more than anything else could possibly have done.

It is one thing to know what you want to do and quite another to believe, with every fibre of your being, what you want to do. That is a significant difference.

I understood that this last week when I reached out to a friend of mine who is embarking on her own business journey and asked her if she would like to join me, an eventually several others, to form a mastermind group.

I was so sure of my intent. So fearless to express what I wanted to achieve.  I knew, upon reflection, that I had reached a new level of being. The best part was, that it felt normal for me.

That is when I understood why I was blocked from that Life Coaching course last fall and why I will achieve this long awaited goal next weekend.

I am always in awe of the formation of patterns in my life. How things connect and interconnect. How you know when you are on the right tract because life flows effortlessly, and you move swiftly along your chosen path, and how a failure, or a block, is really a helping hand from the universe. You just need to have patience, be open to the lesson, even if you don’t yet understand, and have faith.

Even if I don’t have a lot of  grand tangible results from the 3×3 Project, this one insight is a huge leap forward for me, and my life is changing. Isn’t that really the goal here?

The 3 actions from last week:

  1. Formed a mastermind group with 2 other (plans to add 3 more) liked minded woman to support and challenge each other to reach our own desired goals.
  2. Set up a planner to help me organize my actions and get them out of my head. This has been so helpful for my sense of control over my actions.
  3. Took a huge leap upwards on my confidence level. It is amazing the possibilities  you can envision when you are standing on a higher peak.

This week marks the start of the last month of the 3×3 Project. For me there is a renewed sense of propose. I have some exciting things happening this week and I can’t wait to get on with the adventure.

What actions have you taken towards your own goals this week? Share you thoughts and please, share this post.
