Today’s Going To Be A Good Day

Good day

I purchased a new calendar last week to replace the one that my hubby took with him to work out of town. I was drawn to it because on the cover it said, “Today’s going to be a good day!” That made me smile.

Every time I see this calendar I start singing the Black Eye Peas song, I Got A Feeling, but I replace the word night with day. That also makes me smile.

If you want your day to be amazing, try this. When you first wake, but before you even get out of bed, say these 7 words out loud, “Today’s going to be a good day.” Then smile and feel that smile warm your heart.

That’s it. You have set the intention for your day.

Repeat this mantra for a week or so every morning and see how the circumstances in your life change. I guarantee, if you hold on to this intention though out the day, your days and your life will flow easier.

It will not matter what is on the agenda for the day. It could be a root canal or a test or a meeting with the boss. Today is going to be a good day. That decision was made first thing this morning. So it will be.

Henry Ford said, ” Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t. You’re right.

The power of intention is a wonderful thing. Here are a few tricks for success.

  • Decide on the intention. In this case, it is to have a good day.
  • Keep that thought in your mind though out the day. If a tense situation arises, repeat the mantra in your mind, “Today’s going to be a good day.” Then smile to yourself. Once again, feel that smile warm your heart.
  • Let go of the outcome of the situation. If you give in to a situation, then you have let go of your power to choose, and today, you chose to have a good day.
  • Then, let the universe handle the rest. That’s what karma is for. You did your part by intending to have a good day. How others react is their problem.

You may feel a shift in your life after you practise this intention for a while. You may start to see more good things come into your life and the bad things, will no longer have the effect on you like they once did.

It’s a matter of perspective; the glass half full instead of the glass half empty. If you believe that your day is going to be good, it will be. If you believe your day is going to be full of strife, then it will instead. As a human being with free will, you always have the choice.

But you got this, you have set your intention and the outcome has been determined. Today’s going to be a good day. Woohoo. 🙂

And this evening, when you think back on the events of the day, you may just find yourself saying …..

    1. Oh Mary I have had a wonderful year. My son got married and he and his lady are building a home right beside mine and they are also giving me a grandchild in May. I have been blessed.
I’m glad you enjoyed this post. I am still smiling over it.
Let’s Skype soon. I’d love to hear what you have been doing. Your FB post show lots of great experiences.

  1. One day I jokingly told my husband I was a woman of low expectations. We laughed a bit until I realized it was true. If I don’t expect anything I won’t be disappointed.

Hubby told me that was really sad, he couldn’t help me fix that, I was the only one who could. What was sad is that I wasn’t aware of that until that moment and I couldn’t remember when it started.

I will definitely try your suggestion. Thank you.

    1. Well all I can say is I have been smiling ever since I got up this morning. Plus I don’t seem to get that Black Eyed Peas song out of my head.
Thanks for sharing. Happiness is a decision just like anything else. 😁
