Are We Heading For A Tower Card Moment?

When I do a Tarot card reading for someone and the Tower card comes up, I usually re-tell this simple analogy to explain the energy around this card.

I start by explaining that the universe is always communicating with us, we are never alone, but sometimes, for our own good, or to advance us along our chosen soul contract path, it will give us little nudges in the right direction. We always have free will and the ability to make our own decisions, right or wrong, so it’s up to us to pay attention to what’s being communicated from spirit.

Now if you choose to ignore the signs the universe is offering, either from ignorance or obstinance, the universe will up the ante and create road blocks in our lives or dis-ease or unhappiness with the hopes that we will pay attention to situations that are not going in our favour and make the appropriate changes necessary to get back on track.

But, if we still pay no heed to the universe’s warnings, again, because we either don’t understand how the spiritual world works or because we are truly stubborn fools, the universe will eventually smack us up the side of the head with a real crisis that forces us into a humbling perspective that requires us to revaluate how we got so off course.

That, in my opinion, is the message of the Tower card; sudden, possibly catastrophic, change. A breakdown of the ivory tower of falsehoods you have built around yourself.

Experiencing the power of the Tower card and by extension, the power of the universe, can definitely be humbling as it swiftly strips away your current life, and may even put you on the sidelines for a time to re-group, and re-gain perspective of your true purpose. Most folks who have experienced such a calamity and came out the other side will tell you that while it was tough, the results were surprisingly liberating.

I tell you this so that you may get a better understanding to what I invite you to consider next. If the universe regularly communicates with each of us individually, could the universe also be communicating in the same way to the collective world as well?

If this is true, are we close to Tower card level kind of communication from the all powerful universe?

One can’t deny that the world is becoming a powder keg of turbulence, leaving the majority of us feeling uneasy about the future. Who hasn’t felt astonishment over the speed of our societies decay? Who hasn’t looked on in horror at the almost daily occurrence of mass violence. When once you could say with confidence that it could never happen in your town, how sure of that are you today?

Are we purposely choosing to ignore the universal messages that humanity has gone so far off course? But most importantly, are we that ignorant to the signs that we need to change our ways, that we risk a Tower card level, catastrophic event from the universe to get us back on track?

We’re not powerless folks, and you don’t even have to be religious or spiritual to effect change. All you need is a real desire to live in a better, more caring world and then have your actions be inline with that belief.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Mahatma Gandhi

Certainly an over used quote in modern times but this simple message is truly the answer to a new, kinder world. Here’s something to think on: we live in a world of 8 billion people, even if 1 billion of the world’s population were nasty, power seekers, violent killers, criminals of all varieties, even drug addled and mentally ill, there are still 7 billion who aren’t. Isn’t it time to take the power back?

Change is hard, I get it. Human beings for some reason would rather live in a world that is, with increasing speed, unraveling right before our eyes, than to exercise the power of being part of the vast majority and demand change. Instead we choose to sit silent and let the debauched minority erode our freedoms and enslave us for their personal gains.

Change doesn’t have to be violent, there is no need for anger and frustration. In fact, I’m going to suggest that violence, anger and frustration are emotions that actually re-enforce the degradation of our world. All that is needed is to pay attention, see the signs and heed the universe’s message before it smacks us up the collective side of the head, and makes the changes for us.

Remember when you were a young child and you ignored your parents warnings, resulting in severe consequences? Well, we’re not children any more and the repercussions for our willful ignorance may very well effect, not just you, but generations to come.

The universe is speaking to us all. If you want to live in a kinder, happier and healthier world, one that serves us all, it’s time to listen up.
